Ukraine Initiates Mass Production of New Interceptor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Ukrainian authorities have declared the start of mass production for an innovative locally engineered defensive UAV to strengthen its aerial protection systems. Three initial manufacturers have started manufacturing, with an additional eleven preparing to set up assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials announced on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Battlefield Situations

These UAVs utilize a nationally created technology called “Octopus” engineered to intercept Shahed drones. This technology has been tested in actual battle and proved successful “during nighttime, under jamming and at low altitudes,” officials stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established an ambitious goal of manufacturing as many as 1,000 defensive drones daily.

The Ukrainian president described Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “deliberate, premeditated and wicked” following six people lost their lives and dozens wounded in a wave of nocturnal attacks across Kyiv.
