Springer contributed to the Houston Astros claiming the World Series in the 2017 season.
Toronto's Blue Jays advanced to their maiden Fall Classic after 1993 by defeating the Mariners in the decisive game seven of the ALCS.
Down by two runs, outfielder George Springer delivered a three-run blast in the seventh inning, leading the sole Canadian team in the majors to a four games to three victory in the seven-game series. They will now face the Dodgers, holders of the defending champions, in the anticipated World Series.
"It's incredible for our team, the city, Canada," commented Springer, a star of the Astros team that won the 2017 World Series. "What an unbelievable moment."
George Springer has now slugged 23 total October home runs, making him third all-time behind Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (27).
"It's hard to imagine another person anywhere that I'd choose in that situation besides George Springer with his post-season brilliance," remarked manager John Schneider.
Seattle, despite leading the series 2-0 and 3-2, continue to be the sole team never to appear in a World Series.
Wilson commented "there's no question that it's going to sting" following his club's elimination at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but applauded their performance in the campaign.
"It's a special team. Unfortunately that we ended up on the wrong side of this game," he continued.
The Blue Jays claimed the championship on their two prior appearances in 1992 and 1993, and will host the Los Angeles in the first game on this Friday.
