Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the US has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

It said missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
