Defiant Celtic's manager insists he is not worried about the sack but supporters display fury following defeat.

The Celtic boss declared he had no concerns about losing his job, asserting, “The team is very near to things turning around,” in the wake of moving dangerously close to being fired with a comprehensive loss to Rangers.

A Second-Half Collapse Sees Derby Disaster

Celtic were in front Rangers at the break but a collapse after the break allowed the Gers to move level on points with the reigning league title holders. The former MLS manager, who was hired in December, has now presided over six setbacks in eight games.

Supporters' Anger Erupts

He continues to cling to the fact his team play well for 45 minutes at a time. In fact, but for poor finishing they could have been greater than 1-0 up. “The performance had merit except the fact that we haven’t scored our chances,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but it's important to stay objective.

“The performance we had at stages was really, really, really high. That happened. I could not speak so positively if it was untrue. That is the reason, regarding outcomes, I said we've seen this before. That’s why I feel we are nearly there to things turning around. Right now: the fine margins.”

“I saw plenty of positives that we did, as was the case today. However is sustaining it. My outlook would be different the same. This is why I firmly believe we’re going to be able to turn things around.”

Röhl’s Cautious Response

Rangers manager was cautious about a championship push even after what seemed like a statement victory. “We take it game by game, so we can gradually build momentum,” he said. “The confidence in the squad is outstanding.”
